Why We Are Not Modis Family: A Candid Look at Narendra Modi's Governance
In recent times, many have questioned whether Narendra Modi genuinely reflects what is best for all Indians. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has praised him as a strong leader, a closer look at his governance reveals several areas where he falls short of our expectations and the needs of the people.
Welfare Programs and Their Implementation
We are proud voters, not followers of any specific political ideology. When it comes to welfare programs, there is a stark difference in how these are implemented across different states. For instance, why, when Rahul Gandhi had been leading the Congress for years, were welfare measures such as providing 500 free LPG cylinders and 200 units of free power not implemented, despite the evident need? Why should such crucial programs only be available to states under the BJP?
Several states under his leadership have not seen significant improvements. For example, the state of Gujarat, where he was born and has strong political support, has seen the establishment of 250 Ambani-owned mobile companies, yet the state still struggles with unemployment. This highlights a lack of inclusive economic policies that benefit the wider population, instead favoring corporate interests.
Political Matters and State Integrity
Under Modi's leadership, there have been instances of leaking of government exam question papers, rampant corruption, and jobless states. For instance, in the state where Yogi Adityanath is the Chief Minister, corruption is prevalent, and there are very few government job opportunities. Moreover, this issue extends to even Dravidian states, as seen in Manipur, where there have been allegations of state interference and direct political attacks.
There is a prevailing sense that Modi has been encouraging a form of criminal politics, where opposition leaders, including BJP members, have faced grave repercussions. This includes, for example, the violent political conflict witnessed in Gujarat, where the home minister, Anirban Pandya, faced an attack similar to the one faced by Atac Ahamed and his family. This raises questions about the safety and security of opposition members and the integrity of the political system under Modi's watch.
A National Leader or Merely a Regional One?
Several voters in India have expressed dissatisfaction with Modi's governance at the national level. For example, in Andhra Pradesh, while the BJP has tried to plant its seed and establish its presence, it has not been received well. This suggests that Modi is not the savior of all Indian states, but rather a leader primarily focused on his home state of Gujarat and a few other regions where his support is strong.
Our initial excitement about Modi's potential to uplift the entire nation has given way to a more critical perspective. His administration has failed to provide the comprehensive and fair welfare policies that could have brought lasting change to our country. Instead, it seems that his focus has remained narrowly on specific regions and corporations, to the detriment of the broader Indian population.
As voters, we need a leader who truly represents the interests of all Indians, not just those in his comfort zones. The challenges of national leadership are complex, and they require a commitment to inclusive governance that benefits all sections of society.
