Transform Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide to an Overall Lifestyle Change
I have lived both the lives. From waking up at 8 am in sloth mode and going to the office with no intention to now waking up at 4 am running a business and staying full of energy throughout the day. I believe lifestyle change should bring you more energy to perform better.
Here are my steps on how I transformed my life through incremental steps. If you want to improve upon your discipline, eat healthier, exercise, be sharp, sleep well, and so on… Everybody wants that. But few achieve it because your brain can fool you into doing all the steps, and when you get overwhelmed, you quit even before you start. Here is how I transformed myself, and you can follow the same framework. It will take time, but once you show incremental steps in one area, you grow in all areas.
Writing Down the Ultimate Goal
Our ultimate aim is to have a lifestyle that moves us towards a happier version of ourselves. Better health, better money, and better relationships. We want discipline, better solutions to problems, and peace. To achieve this, we will focus on a stellar morning routine, a solution-oriented work ethic, and great time with family.
Setting 3 Month Goals on One Thing
We focus on one thing for three months. For me, that one thing was waking up, making my bed, and doing a 7-minute flow exercise. Very small. Your exercise can be walking outside, doing burpees, or running. Choosing one habit to focus on will give you the understanding that you can achieve small goals, and it will build a foundation for larger changes.
Overlapping One Over Another
Now we will add one more lifestyle habit to the earlier one. I recommend writing. Writing down your thoughts will change your life surely. This simple habit helps you to reflect on your day, identify areas for improvement, and set intentions for the next day. It also trains your brain to integrate new habits into your routine seamlessly.
Getting in the Momentum
Now we will do all of these together. Stack one habit over the others. This is what I did. I trained my brain to stack each habit up, not confuse it, and know exactly what to do every day. This is what I built over the years:
Wake up at 4 am Cold shower Yoga for 20 minutes Writing and reading Three hours of deep work Exercise in the afternoon Finish my day by 8 pm Plan my next day Sleep by 10 pmThis looks like a perfect lifestyle to me. You always start by changing your day, then a week, then months, and in a year, your life will change.
So, you got to start! That is the only hurdle people face.
