The Impact of Political Ideology on Political Parties: A Constitutionalist Perspective
Introduction to Political Ideology and Constitutions
America's political ideology is often framed around the principles of equality, freedom, and liberty for all Americans. However, the role of political ideology within political parties can often be contentious and complex, particularly when it comes to the foundational principles within the Constitution.
What Does Constitutionalism Entail?
Constitutionalism is a principle that emphasizes the rule of law where power is distributed and limited by a system of laws that the rulers must obey. It is also about adhering to the constitutional system of government. A constitutionalist would argue that the Constitution should be the fundamental law that all politicians and citizens must follow.
M/gtesting the Role of Constitutionalism in American Politics
As a lifelong Goldwater Libertarian Conservative, I believe in the principles enshrined in the American Constitution. The Constitution, for me, recognizes only one category of people as "Americans," whether they are Black, Women, Gays/LGBTQ, Latinos, Muslims, or any other group, as long as they were born on American soil or have at least one American parent. This definition aligns with the principles of constitutionalism.
However, the Republican Party (GOP) has deviated from this principle in recent years. They have become domestic enemies of America, lying about religious beliefs and political ideologies, and placing themselves against the Constitution and American rights. They have used litmus tests to purge the party of patriotic Americans who speak with their true voices and refuse to prioritize party politics over constitutional principles.
The Corruption of the Republican Party
The corruption of the Republican Party, in my view, is deeply intertwined with the actions and inactions of the Christian Church. For nearly six decades, both the Christian Church and the Republican Party have lied to the American people. This has led to a system where politicians prioritize their own power and influence over the interests of their constituents.
Contemporary instances of political corruption include:
Politicians going to Washington not to help the people but to enrich themselves at the taxpayers' expense. For example, individuals like Joe Biden, who has been in office for almost 50 years and is now benefiting his children, and Bernie Sanders, who had no career until his 40s and profited from his connection to Russia. Political parties and their candidates displaying a complete disregard for integrity. They are more concerned with their own power and influence rather than the well-being of their constituents. Political ideology serving as a legal cover for greedy, corrupt politics. It is often used to introduce new laws that benefit the political party at the expense of the general population. Conclusion
In conclusion, the role of political ideology in political parties is crucial, but it should be centered around constitutional principles. The American Constitution is a living document that should guide the actions of all politicians, regardless of their party affiliation. Deviating from these principles only serves to undermine the very foundation of American democracy.
It is essential for citizens to hold their representatives accountable and to demand adherence to constitutional principles. Only through this collective effort can we ensure that political parties truly serve the interests of the American people and uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution.
