The Core of Being: Exploring the Center Within
Your 'being' is your body, nothing else, nothing more. However, this does not belittle the significance of experiencing the presence and unity of your senses. The usual state of being lies in the mind, immersed in thoughts, with very little conscious connection to the physical body. The center or core of one's experiential reality is often found in their attention, which is typically engrossed in the thoughts and contents of the mind. To directly experience the body requires learning the skill of extricating the attention, freeing it from the thoughts, and focusing it on the overall sensation and mass of the physical body.
Esoteric Insights: The Heart of Being
Yes, you do have a central point of being. Your holistic existence is seen as a microcosm or monad, a spiritual atom located just below the right heart ventricle, known in various esoteric texts as the 'rose in the heart' and the 'seven-petaled lotus'. In ancient myths and stories, this central point is often personified as a sleeping beauty or a character in a transformative tale, such as Snow White.
The microcosm consists of a temporary, active physical body, a passive, eternal soul body, and an auric being or higher self. Post-transfiguration, this system transforms into a tri-unity: a new eternal physical body, an awakened active soul body, and a spirit body. The journey to achieve this transformation begins by awakening the 'sleeping beauty' through a process of purification or the 'dark night of the soul'. This awakening is marked by the 'kiss of the prince', leading to the transformation of one's personality aspects and overall being.
The Flow of Consciousness
Consciousness and cognition are intertwined. At any given moment, the center of your cognition is where your consciousness is primarily focused. In my own experience, my cognition is primarily centered in my left brain, the logical and positive side, though it intermittently shifts to my right brain, the anxious and negative side. I feel the effect of these shifting states when I mention feeling tired and annoyed by the presence of two cockatoos. By boosting left brain usage and shifting my focus, my consciousness returns to a more centered and blissful state.
The process of shifting focus requires awareness of the current state of your mental and emotional landscape. By deliberately redirecting your attention and focus, you can shift your center of cognition and consciousness to a more positive and centered state, enhancing your overall well-being.
