Striving for Excellence: SSC CGL Tier 1 2 Scores and Personal Reflection

Striving for Excellence: SSC CGL Tier 1 2 Scores and Personal Reflection

My journey with the SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) exams has reached a significant milestone, with full marks in the mathematics section of Tier 1. However, my experience with the Tier 2 has been much less satisfying, reflecting both the highs and lows of personal and professional growth.

Full Marks in Mathematics

Completing the Tier 1 mathematics section with a full score was a culmination of my hard work and dedication. For Tier 2, while I maintained a strong performance in mathematics with 177 marks, my overall score of 445 (177 in math, 140 in pre, and 174 in English) was not as impressive. This brings up an important question: are you satisfied with your performance?

Satisfaction and Reflection

My satisfaction with these results is deeply subjective. On one hand, I am quite satisfied because my performance is better than my previous attempts. Yet, on the other hand, I feel that I have not fully utilized my true potential. This duality is a common experience among test takers and reflects the complex relationship between hard work and personal satisfaction.

Let us take a look at my past experiences. In 2012, I was dissatisfied with earning just 900 per month despite teaching two tuitions. I yearned for a more lucrative opportunity. From 2018 onwards, despite earning 4000 per month from five students, I still felt unfulfilled. It's important to realize that the journey is as important as the destination. Our relentless pursuit of what we think we want can detract from the joy and fulfillment we can obtain along the way.

Lessons Learned

My experiences with the SSC CGL exams have provided valuable lessons, especially for the aspirants following my journey. Here are a few critical takeaways:

Enjoy the process: It's essential to appreciate every step of the journey, whether it's success or failure. Refrain from getting caught in the cycle of physical and mental pursuit of what you think you want. Self-compassion: Be kind to yourself. Praise yourself for your efforts and forgive yourself for any shortcomings. Criticism can be healthy when it helps improve, but avoid self-criticism for the sake of it. Love yourself: True happiness and fulfillment come from within. Love yourself, and the rest will follow.

There are countless ways to make money, but finding true happiness and fulfillment comes from loving yourself in the first place. Everything else is secondary.

Personal Wishes and Hopes

As I await the results of my Tier 3 and Tier 4, I am hoping for the best. While there is a possibility of clearing the cutoff for the post, I remain cautious and hopeful. Here's to wishing for the best and crossing my fingers!

Happy Diwali everyone! May this festival bring joy, success, and peace to all of us.
