Reflecting on Life Choices: How I Would Change My Journey
As I sit down to reflect on my life, I am reminded of the myriad decisions that have shaped who I am today. From the challenges faced in childhood to the difficult choices made later in life, every decision has led to a unique and valuable experience.
Childhood and Early Life
My journey began with a childhood that was anything but easy. Tragedy struck when my mother passed away in an accident when I was just six years old. The absence of my mother was profound, and it was during this tough period that my father became my rock. His unwavering support and guidance helped me navigate those challenging times, and he cherished me as his own child.
After my mother's passing, we moved in with my aunt and cousins. They filled the void left by my mother and became an integral part of my life. My eldest cousin brother, Manas, was always there for me, offering unwavering support. Even at 30, my encounters with him still evoke a mix of joy and tears. The bond I share with him is unbreakable. Even though he is just two years my senior, he has always treated me like a younger sister, embodying the strength and care that my mother once provided.
My younger cousins, Vineet and Aishwarya, also hold a special place in my heart. Being an older sister to them, I took care of them with the same love and affection that they gave to me. Despite our young age gap, they feel like siblings, each one unique and irreplaceable in my life.
Adulthood and Health Challenges
The years following my childhood were marked by both triumphs and struggles, especially in my university days. I began my Computer Science engineering journey, a period filled with camaraderie, friendship, and academic challenges.
However, my life took a dramatic turn in 2020. My father, the pillar of my life, passed away due to complications from COVID-19. This loss hit me hard, but his presence and guidance have left an indelible mark on my life. His sacrifices and commitment have played a crucial role in shaping the person I am today, and I am deeply grateful for his love and guidance.
Healthwise, my life has been marked by surgeries for the simplest of injuries. These surgeries, done in a maniacal manner, left me with compounded physical and emotional trauma. In numerous recovery periods, fueled by painkillers that, regrettably, caused constipation, I had to evaluate the myriad decisions I had made.
I came to a stark realization that if I had made the opposite choices, I would have regretfully altered each one. The thought of taking chances, regardless of the potential consequences, drove me to reconsider every single decision that had affected my health and those around me the most.
Life Choices: A Second Chance
I decided to flip 180 degrees and reverse almost every significant choice I had made. I would rather take the risks associated with each original decision, hoping they would yield the best possible outcomes, particularly those that would have a lasting impact on my health.
The scope of these changes is vast. It would include career and work decisions, personal relationships, financial choices, lifestyle changes, and even intimate choices. I would change every single one of them, each with the hope that the new consequences would be for the better.
Conclusion
Whilst I would like to alter my past, it is crucial to acknowledge that every decision has led to the present. Reflecting on life choices allows us to gain insight and make better decisions moving forward. My journey is unique, and by sharing these reflections, I hope to inspire others to think critically about their life choices and make decisions that align with their values and goals.
