Overcoming the Struggle: A Journey to Betterment
When we feel like we're drowning in a sea of struggles, it can be incredibly tempting to feel that there is no way out. Phrases like 'I’m so tired of everything. My family, school, and just life in general. I can’t do this anymore. Can someone help me?' often echo in our minds. However, it is important to remember that we are not alone in this feeling; many of us have experienced similar sentiments at some point in our lives.
Getting Over Yourself
Initially, it might feel counterintuitive to hear that 'getting over yourself' is the key to overcoming such feelings. Yet, it is what everyone does at one time or another. In fact, many people navigate through their personal challenges with practical solutions. Whining or complaining uselessly accomplishes nothing and can only exacerbate the situation.
Exploring Solutions
One of the practical suggestions that can be considered is to 'Move somewhere else. Take a vacation. Don’t ask me. It’s your life.' This can be a temporary or permanent solution, depending on what the individual situation demands. Moving to a new place or taking a break can provide a fresh perspective and a much-needed recharge.
However, as someone who has been in the same boat for the past few years, I can relate to both the struggle and the eventual journey towards betterment. Last month, I watched Kung Fu Panda 4 and was reminded of the quote: 'Change doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. Because if things stayed the same forever sooner or later they would lose their flavor.' This quote resonates deeply as it suggests that change can be a positive force, helping to reignite life.
Embracing Change and Rediscovering Hobbies
For me, the process of finding my way back involved a re-connecting with my old hobbies that had been put on hold due to the turmoil of my life and low mental health. During my college days, my hobbies had provided a much-needed escape and a sense of normalcy. However, a sudden and unexpected pause in those activities derailed my life. But from the past few months, I have been back on track. It seems that hobbies can indeed be a significant contributor to one's recovery and well-being.
It's easier said than done, right? It's not always straightforward to reconnect with the past self or to reignite the passion for what once brought joy. But as the saying goes, 'No matter how much you struggle, no matter how dark the night is, there is always a ray of hope.' The onus is on you to choose to catch that ray and take action to lighten your life.
So, give yourself the time and space to reflect on who you are and what you need to do to get back on track. Sometimes, it might mean returning to your old self, but it could also mean evolve into a new version. In any case, the key is to take active steps towards becoming alive again.
