Navigating the Journey of Self-Improvement: Reflections and Resolutions on My 22nd and 38th Birthdays
It was not taken on my birthday, but we went out for dinner in September last. That night, however, was filled with fun and memories. My friends made my 22nd birthday on October 10th, 2018, even more special by arranging a small birthday party. Here is a glimpse of that memorable evening.
My friends and I started the day off with college and intermittent meetings. But come the afternoon, a group of five friends decided to spend their time watching the highly acclaimed Tamil movie 96, which features legendary actors Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan. The movie, known for its gripping narrative and stellar performances, was indeed a treat to the senses.
Meanwhile, another group of friends, including my dear mother, wanted to surprise me with a birthday treat. They brought a large chocolate cake from the famous Zuka chocolate shop in Pondicherry, my favorite cake flavor. In addition, my mother kindly got a White Forest surprise cake for me, a classic favorite. These gestures made the day even more special.
Memories and Milestones: My 22nd Birthday
Looking back, my 22nd birthday on October 10th, 2018, stands out as one of the best and most memorable birthdays until date. The cake, especially the chocolate one, remains a cherished memory, with the cream from that cake still smudged on my face as a reminder of the delight and joy.
Life at 38: A Time for Self-Reflection
Hold on… It's my birthday today! Despite my daughter Fatima's desperate plea to come home with a cake, I'm stuck at work. I even thought about interrupting the boss and requesting leave, but that idea was purely out of the question. So, I sit idly, contemplating how life has changed since my 22nd birthday.
At 38, I share the same thoughts that many of us do: is my lifestyle improving or stagnating? Reflecting on my journey, I realize that despite making plans to enhance my life, they haven't been as successful as I had hoped. It's a wake-up call to rethink my strategies.
Challenges Faced: A Mosaic of Personal Aspects
Here's a summary of the challenges I face:
Job: Surviving at the edge of mediocrity without proper time availability. Writing: Struggling to earn a side income and unsure if I have the talent for writing or a book. Fundraiser Campaign: Raising funds to rebuild our house, currently at 20% of the target. Health: Poor heart health, concerns over hypertension, and the need to lose a significant amount of weight.I'm feeling overwhelmed and need guidance. I'm seeking practical advice on losing weight and maintaining good health. Getting serious about these issues, I believe, could make a significant difference. If you could share your thoughts and advice, it would be a wonderful gift to me and a testament to the kindness you've always shown.
Remember, don't all scream 'Happy Birthday' at once!
