In the fast-paced world we live in, it's easy to get caught up in the constant rush of daily life. However, recent events have forced many of us to slow down and take a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle. For some, this means self-imposed lockdowns; for others, it's been a proclamation of silence and darkness in a single day. In this article, we will explore the experiences of one individual during a lockdown week and how it has influenced their personal growth and outlook.

Previously, someone mentioned how they couldn't describe a 'real' lockdown experience since their country remains unaffected. But for me, some months ago, I faced a unique yet conscious lockdown experience. It was March 25th, a special day in my home of Bali known as 'Silence Day.'

On this day, the entire island of Bali is required to observe a day of silence and darkness, symbolizing the absence of all human activity. Over the years, I have embraced this day not just as a single day of solitude but as a reminder to appreciate the simple pleasures of life, such as observing the Milky Way with no light pollution.

I found myself grappling with the reality of my situation, especially given my profession in the hospitality and tourism industry. With the looming uncertainty of losing my job, I felt a deep sense of depression and anxiety.
