How to Open an XO75 Digital Sentry Safe Without a Key or Combination

Opening a digital safe like the XO75 without the key or combination can be a daunting challenge. Here are some steps you can consider to regain access to your safe.

Locate the Override Keyhole

Some digital safes come with a backup key that can be used in an override keyhole. Check your safe's manual to see if this is an option. If the override keyhole is present, simply insert the backup key to open the safe.

Check for a Reset Button

Some models of digital safes have a reset button that can restore factory settings when the door is open. If you can manage to open it another way, this option might help you regain access.

Contact the Manufacturer

Reaching out to the manufacturer’s customer service can provide you with valuable guidance. They may offer a way to recover access to your safe or provide a duplicate key or access code.

Professional Locksmith

If you’re unable to open the safe yourself, consider hiring a professional locksmith who specializes in safes. They have the tools and expertise to open the safe without causing damage.

Drilling As a Last Resort

If you cannot access the safe through any other means, drilling the lock is an option. However, this will likely damage the safe, and it is best done by a professional.

Documentation

If you choose to use a locksmith, be prepared to provide proof of ownership to avoid any legal issues. Keep records of your safe's combination and key in a secure place to avoid these situations in the future.

For a safe owner who has lost their key and code, follow these steps and contact the manufacturer for a duplicate key or access code. This can vary in cost, with most home fire safes costing around $20.

Note: This information does not apply to stolen safes. If your safe is stolen, take photos of your safe and the barcode sticker and contact the manufacturer’s customer service with your details and photos.

Homing in on the SOS process, a home fire safe is typically made from a plastic box surrounded by a concrete box and a thin metal box. A circular saw with a metal/concrete cutting blade can cut through the safe. Place the safe face down, key/keypad-side down. All the contents will move to behind the keypad. Using a circular saw, cut the top off by cutting around the top 2–3 inches from the top and all the way around. Pry off the top with a crowbar and/or break it up with a big hammer. The concrete will come off the plastic box. Now, using a sharp knife cut a hole in the plastic box or cut the top off and retrieve your treasured items.
