How to Invoke Saints and the True Path to Spiritual Connection

How to Invoke Saints and the True Path to Spiritual Connection

The Bible strongly advises against invoking saints or any intermediaries between you and the divine. This article aims to provide guidance on how to connect with saints in the right way, emphasizing the role of Jesus as the one mediator between God and humanity.

Why Not Invoke Saints?

The Bible clearly states that there is only one mediator between God and humanity, which is Jesus Christ. Any attempts to invoke saints or other spiritual beings can lead you into the spiritual realm of darkness.

According to Christian theology, spiritual beings such as saints are deceased believers who have passed on to the afterlife. These beings cannot interact with the earthly realm unless through Jesus Christ. Thus, invoking them can lead you into a realm where counterfeits of God’s good creation are present (1 Timothy 4:1).

Safe Ways to Connect with Saints

If you seek to invoke saints, there are safer ways to do so. You can:

Pray directly to Jesus, the one mediator, and mention the saints by name. For example:

Name, Holy Mothe of God and all the saints who have pleased God in Your lives pray to Christ my Lord that I might live this day in peace, love, and humility. Pray unto God for me, O Holy Name well-pleasing to God, for I turn to you, who are a speedy helper and intercessor for my soul.

Contact a local Christian church. They can provide you with contact information for saints within the church directory and may help you find a way to connect with these saints during church services.

Attend church services and approach a saint during the service to ask for their intercession.

Understanding the Kingdom of Heaven

According to Christian doctrine, no mere human, including saints, Mary, Enoch, or Elijah, are in the presence of God in the heavenly throne room. They have not yet ascended to heaven; they are either in the afterlife awaiting the second coming of Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) or ministering in the New Heavens and New Earth (2 Peter 3:13).

Scriptures Supporting This View:

1 Corinthians 15:50–54:

“And now I say to you brothers that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold! I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” (ESV) “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’” (ESV)

John 3:13 also reinforces the belief that no man has ascended to heaven except the one who came down from heaven—the Son of Man (Jesus).

Be Cautious of False Teachings

It is important to be aware of false teachings and practices. Some religious groups may offer practices that involve invoking saints, Mary, or even praying for miracles, which are often seen in Roman Catholic teachings. While these practices are popular in some Christian denominations, it is crucial to verify their teachings against the Bible.

For example, Roman Catholic teachings on the Assumption of Mary and the intercession of saints are not explicitly mentioned in the Bible. They are instead found in Catholic doctrine, books written by men, and traditions that have developed over time.

It is essential to search the Word of God for truth and beware of any false doctrine that contradicts biblical teachings.
