How to Check Blocked Numbers on Your iPhone and Avoid Scammers
Many iPhone users find themselves in situations where they need to block unwanted callers or scammers. To check the list of numbers you have blocked on your iPhone, you can easily follow these steps:
Step-by-Step Guide to View Blocked Numbers
1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Scroll down and tap on Phone.
3. Tap on Blocked Contacts or Call Blocking and Identification to view your list of blocked numbers.
This method also applies to the Messages and FaceTime settings if you manage blocked contacts through these apps. Simply repeat the steps above in their respective apps to see your blocked contacts in these areas.
Additional Tools to Manage Blocked Contacts
For more detailed information, here are additional methods and tools you can use:
Create a Reverse Lookup
Often, scammers disguise themselves and provide incorrect information about their true location and name. For instance, you might see an area code for another state or your local area code, but the caller will be far away. The name displayed will also be fake.
Use YouMail App for Complete Block Check
A. Download the YouMail App. It will list all calls, including blocked callers from your iPhone's blocked list. Even though these calls will not alert your device, the blocked callers will still be forwarded to voicemail due to their presence on your blocked list.
B. If you are on a Verizon carrier, log in to your account and visit the view usage page. Click on the call log to see your incoming and outgoing calls. Any blocked numbers that have attempted to contact you will appear here. Similarly, check the messages section to view incoming and outgoing text messages from these numbers.
Note: Although your phone does not receive alerts from these blocked callers, they will still appear on your phone bill, call log, and text message log. Your carrier records all incoming and outgoing calls and texts. If you call or text a blocked number, your carrier will show your outgoing call or text to that blocked number. This process is similar for YouMail, as it may take up to an hour for carrier records to update.
