Branchmates are usually neighbors, and all blocks house students from almost all branches, fostering a diverse community.
Rajendra Bhawan is an older hostel, but the room quality is satisfactory. From my room, you can see that while the environment is somewhat chaotic, the hostel's layout and facilities are conducive to learning and social interaction. The mess scene is impressive, but the food quality, unfortunately, is one of the worst across all hostels at IIT Roorkee.
Community and Living Arrangements

Rajendra Bhawan is known for its semi-Old World charm and provides a decent living environment for students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
For instance, my new room in Javahar Bhawan was in good condition, mostly due to its first-time occupancy. Initial cleaning costs approximately 50 rupees, which can be seen as a small price for a fresh and clean environment.
