Although I frequently visit other major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, I have never truly wanted to move elsewhere. Chicago holds a unique place in my life, and its charm continues to captivate me with every visit.

The connection to Chicago runs deep through my family roots. My great-grandparents emigrated from Ireland as children and established themselves in Chicago. My great-grandfather, Martin Quinn, was a police lieutenant at the Haymarket event. My grandmother and mother were born here, and so was I. My daughter, too, was born here. It's a city intertwined with my bloodline and its troubles have long saddened me.

How has your journey in Chicago been?
I was born and raised in Chicago, attending parochial schools from kindergarten through the 10th grade. I then transferred to Jones Commercial, a public school that prepared high-achieving students from across the Chicago area for the business world. I married and raised four children, all of whom were educated at parochial schools. When our oldest child was in eighth grade, we moved to the suburbs to ensure our children had access to better public schools. This relocation marked a significant 35-year period in Chicago, followed by a lifetime of suburban living.

Their access to top-tier public schools in the suburbs would have been otherwise difficult, especially given the quality of schools in Chicago. Living in the suburbs for the past 35 years has remained within the city's sphere, maintaining a strong connection to the city's vibrant cultural and social life.
