Are Guard Houses Needed at Gated Community Entrances Anymore?
The Current State of Gun Sales
Now more than ever!
I just returned from the sporting goods store, where they typically had boxes of ammunition by the thousand. Row after row were completely sold out. The selection of rifles and handguns was quite meager. When I asked the clerk if they were discontinuing gun sales, the response was a resounding no. Instead, they are sold out and cannot get them in fast enoughthey are gone before we can get them out of the shipping crates!
The only rifles in the store looked reminiscent of something a grandfather or great-grandfather might have used. All of the sleek, “assault-type” rifles were sold out.
I don’t have a crystal ball to predict what this means for the USA, but it looks to me like the Red-States have already made their choice!
The Importance of Security in Gated Communities
Not everyone lives in a gated community, but staying informed about the increasing crime rates is crucial. In my opinion, the presence of guards has never been more necessary today.
While some might argue that the installation of CCTV, alarm systems, and other security measures can serve as an excellent deterrent, the level of security provided by human guards offers a layer of assurance that machines simply cannot provide. Guards can interpret and respond to situations in real-time, ensuring that potential threats are identified and addressed promptly.
Opting for Guard Houses in Gated Communities
It's not just the presence of guards that mattersit's also the quality of those guards. When considering hiring security personnel, it is essential to ensure that they are well-trained, experienced, and committed to their duties.
Guard houses serve as a physical manifestation of the security measures in place. They act as a deterrent for potential intruders and provide a safe and secure environment for residents. Additionally, guard houses allow for proper equipment storage, including communication devices, security gear, and response vehicles.
The choice to install guard houses is a significant investment. However, it provides a multitude of benefits that cannot be underestimated. From enhanced community cohesion and safety to improved property values, the decision to invest in guard houses can have a lasting positive impact.
Conclusion
The need for guard houses at gated community entrances has never been more apparent. While advanced technology can certainly play a role in security, the human element remains crucial. Guard houses provide a tangible reminder of the commitment to security and can serve as a deterrent to would-be intruders. Ultimately, the decision to invest in guard houses is a decision that can foster a sense of safety and comfort for residents, ensuring a safer and more secure community.
